OUR PROJECTS

Productive Partnerships

We know Idaho businesses lose over half a billion dollars a year to child care problems. Parents miss work, are distracted at work, or have to quit their jobs altogether because they can’t find affordable and reliable day care. LCYC was created to help solve that dilemma.

Nothing could have happened without the partnerships we've built  throughout Lincoln County and beyond. Our first supporters were community members who saw the need and did what they could do promote our efforts. From the woman who handed us a dollar bill and said, " I know it's not much, but I believe in what you're doing", do the anonymous donor who sent us a check for $25,000 to get us started, our friends an neighbors have connected, collaborated and cheered with LCYC. To give back, we work hard to engage with our communities and provide support where needed.  From providing low-cost transportation services, hosting community events, and housing a community food bank, Lincoln County Youth Center is always proud to be in partnership with the great people of Lincoln County.

Watch our events calendar for parenting and literacy classes, college readiness workshops, kindergarten preparation and fun family nights. Then, join in the fun and help us continue to serve this amazing community.

Day Care for all

Within weeks of opening our doors, we knew there was more need than we could meet. Since then, we have been working to ensure EVERY child in Lincoln County has access to affordable and  quality child care. In August of 2021, we started with after school programming and preschool. Those programs have grown and expanded to meet the very high demand.  We're thrilled rto announce the next phase of expansion, coming in August of 2025.

Thanks to a grant from Idaho's Workforce Development Council, we will begin offering daycare to kids aged 2 -5. The service includes preschool, meals, and a place to learn and grow. In 2026 we will open the service to  infants under 2 years old if room allows.

Long term, our goal is to host a full service day care  open to children who parents work all shifts, including nights and weekends. To  join the waiting list for the August 2025 openings, click here:

Lincoln County Connections

We knew that one key to the success of Lincoln County Youth Center would be transportation.  Our families need help getting their children delivered to and from their community schools. Thanks to a generous grant from Idaho’s Department of Transportation, we acquired four vans to do just that.  Parents can relax knowing their children are safely carried between locations. Idaho’s Association for the Education of Young Children helped us purchase a fifth van, used to transport children in age-appropriate car seats to and from the preschool program. Once we knew our children could be transported safely, we looked for a way to support the community that has done so much to support our work.  That’s where Lincoln County Connections began.  During the day, while the kids were at school, we began offering transportation to College of Southern Idaho, local medical centers and grocery stores. In three years, this program has grown by leaps and bounds.  Our transportation fleet is growing.  Just this year, The Shoshone Project facilitated the donation of a 6th van from Mountain Rides to help our fleet meet the growing demand. Lincoln County families deserve the ability to get to the services and resources they need to thrive. We are proud to provide that service for our residents.

Connected Classrooms

We believe Lincoln County kids thrive when they can learn in a caring environment with the support of compassionate adults.  Our buildings are filled with that support.  We want to make sure every child in our pogram understands where their food comes from.  To that end, area farms  and agribusinesses have supported our students on their learning journey.  Glanbia, Chobani, 4-Bros Dairy, Donley Farms, Taber Farms, R & L Dairy, and Dairywise Laboratory Services are just. few of the companies who have supported our ag-in-the-classroom efforts.

We also work hard to emphasize STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).  Our children learn by doing hands-on projects that show them direct connections between what they're learning and how they can use it outside the classroom, The University of Idaho, Blue Shield of Idaho, Select Health, and United Way are among the many companies who help us make sure our kids have access to the best resources we can find..

Partners like The Shoshone Project, the College of Southern Idaho, and Lincoln County Recreation have helped us fund field trips and experiences that broaden the horizons of our children, showing them the world outside Lincoln County is full of wonder and wisdom if they choose to find it.
